End of week 8/20
This week has mostly been spent reading about anomaly detection and implementing good methods of generating “normal” data (for use in machine learning to discern anomalies).
I received a reply on Tuesday from the master thesis coordinator at the university regarding the peer review session. It will be held next week. So I guess I will spend some of next week preparing for the peer review session.
Summary of week [8/20]
- Monday: more reading and writing on report
- Tuesday: modified sock-shop components to supply me with better metrics
- Wednesday: experimenting with InfluxDB and Prometheus exporting of metrics
- Thursday: more work on establishing a baseline for normal operations.
- Friday: meeting with my supervisor, we discussed suitable metrics to collect for anomaly detection. Also reorganizing of my internal project planning (re-prioritizing of tasks etc.)
Next week
According to the master thesis coordinator, the peer review session will be held next week so I will need to prepare for that by reading some other report and writing on my own.
